Nobo Jibon, a
leading non-governmental organization based in Palashpole, Satkhira,
distributed emergency food parcels among 1,308
underprivileged families, including the helpless, destitute,
widows, orphans, elderly people, and persons with disabilities, under its
humanitarian project titled “Emergency
Food Support for Vulnerable People.” The initiative was
financially supported by Novo
Jibon UK and implemented at the Nobo Jibon Center in Satkhira.
The food
assistance program reached vulnerable households across 13 unions of Satkhira Sadar Upazila,
providing essential food support to families facing economic hardship and food
insecurity.
Each beneficiary
family received a food package containing 15 kg of rice, 2 liters of soybean
oil, 2 kg of flour, 1 kg of sugar, 1 kg of lentils, 1 kg of vermicelli (semai),
1 kg of dates, 500 grams of milk powder, 200 grams of mixed spice powder, and 200
grams of turmeric powder.
The distribution
ceremony was presided over by Mr.
Shamsul Alam Khan, President of the Executive Committee of Nobo
Jibon. Mr. Md.
Badruddoza, Assistant Commissioner (Land), Satkhira Sadar,
attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Md. Shariful Islam, Upazila Social
Services Officer, Satkhira Sadar, was present as the Special Guest.
The welcome
address was delivered by Mr.
Khan Fahim Al Fuad, Acting Executive Director of Nobo Jibon.
Among others present were Mr.
Sheikh Borhan Uddin, Headmaster of Nobo Jibon Institute; Mr. Rashid Hasan Khan,
Assistant Admin (HR); Mr.
Oshiul Alam, Project Manager; and other officials and staff
members of the organization.
Speaking on the
occasion, the guests highly appreciated the initiative and emphasized the
importance of continued humanitarian support for vulnerable communities. The
organizers reaffirmed Nobo Jibon’s commitment to standing beside disadvantaged
people and promoting food security through sustainable social welfare programs.
The initiative
reflects Nobo Jibon’s ongoing dedication to supporting marginalized communities
and strengthening social resilience through timely humanitarian assistance.
