Satkhira
District is the coastal area, the south western side of Bangladesh. Total
population is 20,79,884. Out of them 8,36,223 are male, 8,16,881 are female and
4,26,780 are children. Total 66.1% families are involved with agricultural
activities. Lack of cultivation land, agricultural materials and economic
condition maximum population are depended on agriculture labour. 46% rural
families are agriculture labour in this district. But the people of the area
are cultivating shrimp culture in the land and picked up the saline water from
the river. So most of the lands are probably disqualified to cultivate the
vegetables, paddy and other crops. For this reason 55% poor live under the
poverty, 14% heard core poor & 54% landless. From this thinking, we have taken
decision to implement this project. Maximum people of the district are
unemployed. They are suffering mentally and are creating occurrence in the
remote areas. They are addicted in drags. We shall support the unemployed
people in this area. From this support, they will get a scope of self
sufficient. The poor and heard core poor children and dropped out students will
learn the lesson by the education school. They will get a scope to increase the
literacy rate of the country. The adolescent and young generation will get the
vocational training. They will get a scope to build the career. The orphans who
are living with Grandparents, Uncle, Aunt and so other relatives. They are
deprived from all kinds of basic needs. They are 1,300 in number. From this
project they will get educational allowances, educational materials, hygienic
equipments, school bag, school dress, convince and feeding support. They can
get higher education after completing their formal education. Also some
children will get skill development training and will get support for income
generation activities. Also the people will be awarded of the project area by
different awareness programme and skill development training.
Objectives of the Program:
The main
objective of the program is to ensure education for most vulnerable and orphan
children including income generation and safe water.
Beneficiaries of the Program:
The
main beneficiaries of this programme were the vulnerable, poor & orphan
children who are school going but had no or less opportunities of their
necessities. Also the general, poor and vulnerable populations of the project
areas were the beneficiaries of this project. The total beneficiary quantity
was 74,251.
