Free Goat Distribution Program under the Income-Generating Project Funded through the Special Allocation of the Bangladesh NGO Foundation (BNF)

As part of the implementation of the "Income-Generating Project" under the special allocation of the Bangladesh NGO Foundation (BNF), Nobojibon is implementing a free goat distribution program from 1 July 2026 to 16 September 2026. Under this program, a total of 50 goats will be distributed among 25 Disadvantaged Families. In the first phase, 30 goats will be distributed among 15 Disadvantaged Families, while in the second phase, 20 goats will be distributed among 10 Disadvantaged Families. The primary objective of this initiative is to create sustainable income opportunities for disadvantaged Families and ensure their financial self-reliance.

The first phase of the Goat Distribution Program, implemented under the Income-Generating Project funded through the Special Allocation of the Bangladesh NGO Foundation (BNF), was held on 13 July 2026.

The inauguration ceremony of the program began with a welcome address delivered by Mr. Tarequzzaman Khan, Executive Director of Nobojibon. The Chief Guest was Mr. Iqbal Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairman of the Bangladesh NGO Foundation (BNF). Special Guests included Mr. Badruddoza, Assistant Commissioner (Land), Satkhira Sadar, and Dr. Md. Mashiur Rahman, Upazila Livestock Officer, Satkhira Sadar. The ceremony was chaired by Mr. Shamsul Alam Khan, President of the Nobojibon Executive Committee. The distinguished guests addressed the Disadvantaged Families and praised the role of the Bangladesh NGO Foundation and Nobojibon in improving the living standards of disadvantaged people through such income-generating initiatives.

One of the Disadvantaged Families of this program is Salma Khatun, a 24-year-old widow. Following the death of her husband, she had been living in severe financial hardship. Under the special allocation of the Bangladesh NGO Foundation (BNF), implemented through Nobojibon, she received two goats. In addition, she has been provided with technical guidance on goat rearing, regular monitoring, and overall support. Salma Khatun believes that with proper care and breeding of the goats, she will be able to generate additional income in the future, enabling her to meet her family's expenses and gradually become financially self-reliant. She stated that this support has brought new hope into her life, and she is determined to build a sustainable livelihood through her own hard work and skills, allowing her to live a dignified and self-reliant life.
